Multilateral Exercise Pitch Black 2022 concludes

After three weeks of fruitful training by Australian and foreign military aircraft over the skies of the Northern Territory, Exercise Pitch Black 2022 came to an end today. More than 100 air warriors from the IAF are deployed with four Su-30 MKI fighters and two C-17 aircraft under the command of Group Captain YPS Negi. They have participated in complicated environments for multi-domain air combat missions and have shared best practices with the other air forces.

Around 100 aircraft and 2500 troops operated largely from Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Base Darwin, as well as RAAF Bases Tindal and Amberley, during this year’s exercise, which involved 17 nations, including Australia.
