In a significant visit to the Panchshul Brigade located in Pithoragarh, Chief of the Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, aimed to assess operational preparedness while celebrating the festival of Diwali with troops stationed in the challenging high-altitude regions along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
During his time at the brigade, General Dwivedi received comprehensive briefings regarding critical operational parameters. These included discussions on the integration of advanced technology, collaboration with various security agencies, and an array of nation-building initiatives designed to enhance civil-military relations in the region.
Emphasizing a focus on sustainable defense and innovation, General Dwivedi praised the brigade’s commitment to adopting geothermal energy solutions and other environmentally friendly practices. While interacting with officers and soldiers, the Army Chief expressed admiration for their professionalism, readiness, and dedication as they serve in some of the most demanding and rugged terrains of the Himalayas. He acknowledged their unwavering commitment to national security and their essential role in fostering peace along India’s northern borders.
General Dwivedi’s visit prior to Diwali highlighted the leadership’s personal connection with the troops and reinforced the ethos of “service before self,” a core value that distinctly characterizes the Indian Army. This engagement with the soldiers not only boosts morale but also fortifies the spirit of camaraderie within the ranks, ensuring that they remain motivated as they fulfill their critical responsibilities.
