The Indian Air Force (IAF) recently commemorated its 93rd anniversary with a grand celebration at Hindon Air Force Station, reflecting on the valor and dedication of its air warriors tasked with the critical role of safeguarding the nation’s airspace.

This year’s festivities carried a particular significance as they paid homage to Operation Sindoor, a significant military operation that exemplified the IAF’s excellence in precision, technology, and strategic superiority. The commemoration served not only as a celebration of history but also as a reaffirmation of the IAF’s modern capabilities.

Dignitaries including Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi graced the event. Air Chief Marshal AP Singh conducted an inspection of the ceremonial parade, praising the air warriors for their professionalism and courage demonstrated during Operation Sindoor.

In his Special Order of the Day, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh expressed, “As we commemorate this day, we pay tribute to the valour, dedication and unwavering spirit of the Indian Air Force in safeguarding our nation’s skies. Through Operation Sindoor, we reaffirmed the primacy of air power in shaping military outcomes.”

The anniversary celebrations featured an impressive march past, alongside displays of advanced aircraft, culminating in a spectacular flypast that illustrated India’s state-of-the-art aerial capabilities. Attendees witnessed firsthand the IAF’s operational readiness and its capacity to deliver remarkable results across various domains.

Operation Sindoor, which commenced on May 7, 2025, marked a high-precision, intelligence-driven strike by the Indian armed forces as a response to the Pahalgam terror attack. This operation targeted terrorist infrastructure in the contentious areas of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and deeper within Pakistan, including the critical Nur Khan and Rahimyar Khan air bases.

The IAF’s deployment of the Integrated Air Command and Control System (IACCS) for real-time operational coordination showcased India’s increasing supremacy in network-centric warfare, securing its reputation as one of the most formidable air forces globally.

As the IAF celebrates 93 illustrious years since its establishment on October 8, 1932, the ceremony at Hindon symbolized not only a tribute to its storied legacy but also a testament to its ongoing evolution and commitment as the guardian of India’s skies.
