Earlier, the Pralay Missile which is a top-notch Ballistic Missile of the Indian Army had already been developed and delivered by the Defence Research and Development Organisation. Pralay which is a Surface-to-Surface, Short-Range Ballistic Missile (SRBM) can strike enemy formations from a range of 150 to 500 kilometres. It was inducted into service by the Indian Armed Forces in December 2022.

Apart from Pralay, Indian Missile Stockpile has also been fueled with the state of art BrahMos missile. Brahmos which is widely regarded as the world’s fastest supersonic cruise missile can be launched from all three domains – land, air, and sea. Also, an underwater variant of the Brahmos has already been developed which can be launched from a submarine. Jointly developed by India’s DRDO and Russia’s NPO Mashinostroyeniya, the Brahmos currently has a range of 450 km after the Indian Air Force successfully conducted trials of the extended range version of the missile in December 2022.
