Lieutenant General Anoop Shinghal, the Director General of Recruiting and Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Artillery, recently conducted an important visit to the Artillery Centre in Nashik. Accompanied by the Commandant of the Centre, Lt Gen Shinghal carried out a thorough evaluation of the institution’s initiatives aimed at providing advanced and effective training, specifically tailored for Agniveers under the new recruitment model. Located near the historic Pandav Caves and nestled in the foothills of the Sahyadri mountain range, the Artillery Centre Nashik is distinguished as the largest artillery training facility in Asia. The Centre’s history dates back to its relocation during the partition in 1947, and it has since operated under military supervision. Over the decades, it has successfully trained more than 270,000 personnel, playing a crucial role in enhancing India’s defense preparedness and artillery excellence.
