In a proactive move to strengthen India’s defence capabilities, Lieutenant General MV Suchindra Kumar, the Army Commander of Northern Command, conducted a thorough review of the innovative technologies presented at Aero India 2025, recognized as Asia’s leading aerospace and defence exhibition. The event served as a platform to showcase the latest developments aimed at enhancing the operational readiness of the Indian Armed Forces.
During his visit, Lt Gen Kumar extensively explored a broad array of advanced military technologies, which encompassed unmanned aerial systems (UAS), artificial intelligence (AI)-driven solutions, cyber warfare systems, as well as next-generation combat platforms. This exploration reflected the Indian Army’s commitment to embracing cutting-edge technologies that align with the future of warfare.
A major focus of the review was on innovations aimed at bolstering the Indian Army’s operational capabilities, with particular emphasis on joint operations and multi-domain warfare. He expressed interest in nurturing defence partnerships with the private sector to catalyze research and development (R&D) and drive innovation. Additionally, Lt Gen Kumar emphasized the importance of instilling a culture of continuous learning and adaptability towards new technologies within the Army.
