Lieutenant General Neeraj Shukla, the General Officer Commanding of the Gajraj Corps, recently conducted an important visit to the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) battalions located in Bhalukpong, Arunachal Pradesh. This visit included comprehensive discussions with senior ITBP leadership, showcasing a commitment to enhance border security operations.
During the engagement, Lt Gen Shukla met with the Deputy Inspector General of the Sector Headquarters ITBP as well as Commandants from various battalions. Key topics of discussion revolved around operational preparedness, mechanisms for effective coordination, and initiatives for joint training. These discussions are critical in fostering stronger teamwork between the ITBP and the Army, aimed at bolstering security along the nation’s borders.
The visit was also marked by a moment of solemn remembrance as the Corps Commander paid homage at the ITBP War Memorial. Here, he acknowledged the unwavering dedication and sacrifices made by ITBP personnel in their efforts to protect the borders of the country.
In his interactions with ITBP troops, Lt Gen Shukla underscored the necessity for seamless collaboration between different security forces. He emphasized that such synergy is essential not only for ensuring national security but also for contributing to the broader goals of nation-building.
A critical part of his address focused on the concept of JAI — Jointness, Aatmanirbharta (self-reliance), and Innovation. He articulated the significance of adopting a Whole-of-Nation approach to create a future-ready force capable of executing multi-domain operations, driving home the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
This visit is indicative of the ongoing efforts of both the Indian Army and the ITBP to enhance operational coordination, foster indigenous capabilities, and ensure an integrated approach to national security, especially in strategically significant border areas.
