Exercise ‘Yudh Abhyas 20’

    • Conducted at: Mahajan Field Firing Range of Bikaner district in Rajasthan
    • Date: 8 to February 2021
    • Aim: Counter-terror operations
    • About: 270 US and 250 Indian army soldiers are participating in the exercise. Yudh Abhyas has been ongoing since 2004.

Exercise DUSTLIK II

    • Conducted at: Chaubatia, Ranikhet, UK
    • Date: 10-19 Mar 2021
    • Aim: Counter-Terrorism Exercise
    • About: The RezangLa Battalion 13 Kumaon is representing the Indian Army. The first-ever India-Uzbekistan joint military exercise – Dustlik-2019 began on Nov 04, 2019, at Chirchiq Training Area near Tashkent.

Multinational Military Exercise ‘Shantir Ogroshena 2021’

  • Conducted at: Bangladesh
    • Date: 04 Apr to 12 Apr 2021
    • Aim: Counter-terror operations
    • Theme: Robust Peace Keeping Operations
    • About: Indian Army contingent comprising of 30 personnel of Dogra Regiment. USA, UK, Turkey, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Singapore also participated.

Exercise INDRA 2021

  • Participating Countries: India & Russia
    • Edition: 12th
    • Conducted at: Volgograd, Russia
    • Date: 01 to 13 August 2021
    • Aim: Counter-terror operations
    • About: 250 personnel from both nations took part in the exercise. The Indian Army contingent comprising of a Mechanised Infantry Battalion underwent this exercise.

Exercise Kazind-21

  • Participating Countries: India & Kazakhstan
    • Edition: 5th
    • Conducted at: Training Node Aisha Bibi, Kazakhstan
    • Date: August 30 to September 11
    • Aim: Counter-terror operations
    • About: The contingent comprises 120 troops from Kazakhstan and 90 soldiers from the Indian Army.

SCO Exercise Peaceful Mission 2021

  • Participating Countries: SCO Members
    • Edition: 6th
    • Conducted at: Orenburg Region of southwest Russia
    • Date: 13 to 25 September 2021
    • Aim: Is to foster close relations between SCO member states
    • About: The Indian military contingent comprising of an all-arms combined force of 200 personnel to include 38 personnel from the Indian Air Force is participating in the Exercise PEACEFUL MISSION -2021.

    • Conducted at: Pithoragarh, UK
    • Date: 29 Sep 2021
    • Aim: Counter-insurgency operations
    • About: The exercise is part of an initiative to develop interoperability and share expertise between the two nations.

Exercise ZAPAD-2021

  • Type: Multilateral Ex, 7 Countries Participated
    • Conducted at: Novgorod Region of Russia
    • Date: September 2021
    • Aim: To rehearse Exercise, strategic planning, tactical actions.
    • About: Participating contingents showcased their skills in a number of extra-curricular & sports activities including Football, Volleyball, Kettle Bell lifting, Arm Wrestling, Tug of War, and the cultural program.

Exercise Ajeya Warrior 2021

    • Conducted at: Chaubatia, Uttarakhand
    • Date: 20 Oct 2021
    • Aim: To develop interoperability and share expertise with friendly foreign nations.

Mitra Shakti 2021

  • Participating Countries: India & Sri Lanka
    • Edition: 8th
    • Conducted at: Combat Training School, Ampara, Sri Lanka
    • Date: 04 – 16 October 2021
    • Aim: Counter insurgency and counter-terrorism operations in semi-urban terrain
    • About: The culmination phase of the exercise was jointly witnessed by the visiting Chief of the Indian Army, General M M Naravane, and General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff & Commander of the Sri Lankan Army on 15 October 2021.

Ex Yudh Abhyas 2021

    • Edition: 17th
    • Conducted at: Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson, Alaska (USA)
    • Date: 15 to 29 October 2021
    • Aim: Enhancing understanding, cooperation, and interoperability
    • About: The contingent, comprising of 350 personnel of an Infantry Battalion Group participated in this exercise. The previous version of this exercise was held at Mahajan Field Firing Ranges in Bikaner, Rajasthan in February 2021.

Ex Shakti 2021

    • Conducted at: France
    • Date: 25 November 2021
    • Aim: Terrorism-free world.
    • About: The exercise was conducted in two phases involving combat conditioning and tactical training of Counter-Terrorism operations culminating with validation of training in a semi-urban environment.

Exercise Dakshin Shakti

  • Type: Domestic Ex
    • Conducted By: Southern Army Command
    • Conducted at: Jaisalmer, Rajasthan
    • Date: 29 Nov 2021
    • Aim: To ensure integrated application of forces in Multi-Domain Operations
    • About: The COAS complimented all the participants for the high state of readiness and operational preparedness and exhorted them to continue their vigil for the security of the Nation.

Ex-Ekuverin 2021

  • Participating Countries: India & Maldives
    • Edition: 11th
    • Conducted at: Kadhdhoo Island, Maldives
    • Date: 06 to 19 December 2021
    • Aim: Enhance operational synergy between both Armies in the conduct of counter-terrorism operations.
    • About: The Indian Army and the Maldives National Defence Forces have been conducting Exercise Ekuverin which means ‘Friends’ in the Dhivehi language since 2009.

Exercise Dharma Guardian 2022

    • Conducted at: Belagavi (Belgaum, Karnataka)
    • Date: 27th February to 10th March 2022
    • Aim: Operations in the jungle and semi-urban/urban terrain.
    • About: Exercise Dharma Guardian-2022 is an annual training event which is being conducted in India since 2018.
