In a significant leadership transition, Shri Mukesh Singh, IPS, has officially taken over as the Director General of Police (DGP) of Manipur, heralding a new era for the state’s police force. His arrival at the Police Headquarters in Mantripukhri was marked by a ceremonial Guard of Honour from the Manipur Police, symbolizing both respect and the responsibilities he is set to undertake.
Shri Singh’s appointment comes at a critical moment for Manipur, a state facing various challenges related to policing, public order, and community trust. Previously the police chief of Ladakh, his transfer signals an emphasis on experienced leadership in addressing the unique complexities of law enforcement in the region.
Following the ceremonial reception, Singh convened a brief introductory meeting with senior officers.
