The Albert Ekka Brigade of the Red Shield Division organized a significant State-Level Mega Ex-Servicemen Rally at Agartala Military Station on March 2, 2026. This important event attracted over 1,500 veterans and Veer Naris from all eight districts of Tripura, underscoring the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of its veteran community.
Shri Indrasena Reddy Nallu, the Hon’ble Governor of Tripura, served as the Chief Guest for the occasion. The rally was attended by distinguished senior military and civil dignitaries, including Lieutenant General Abhijit S Pendharkar, UYSM, AVSM, SM, the General Officer Commanding of Spear Corps. The event included a heartfelt recognition of veterans and Veer Naris, honouring their dedicated service and the ultimate sacrifices made for the nation.
A variety of facilitation stalls were set up to cater to the welfare needs of the attendees. These included services for ECHS, SPARSH pension support, Aadhaar registration, banking assistance tailored for defense veterans, and on-the-spot medical consultations, complete with medicine distribution.
In a bid to enhance awareness and understanding of the Indian Army, a “Know Your Army” display was incorporated into the event. This exhibition highlighted the ethos, operational capabilities, modern equipment, and career opportunities available within the armed forces. It aimed to cultivate a stronger military-civil connection and to inspire NCC cadets and the youth of the region.
The rally concluded with an array of vibrant cultural performances that celebrated the rich heritage of Tripura. This finale served to reinforce the enduring bond between the Armed Forces and the local populace, leaving a lasting impression on all participants and attendees.
