Time-management, focus, concentration, basic knowledge are the important factors that matters the most in quick solution of a problem, read few more pointers below on how you can improve your problem solving techniques.

  • If you don’t read the question carefully that means you didn’t get the correct meaning of the question and  result of the question’s solution becomes wrong.
  • You must give a particular time to all questions for solving. Don’t give extra time to a difficult question. If you are unable to solve it, then leave it for end. Try to solve other question a bit faster and solve that question in the end.
  • Sometime you don’t go through your answers and feel they are correct but there are still some silly mistakes. So try to revise if possible.
  • Don’t get stuck with tough questions or questions that you think you can solve but getting stuck in midcalculations.
  • Understand your doubts, best way is once you face a kind of problem you will get many kinds of doubts and error, try to remember these errors in future so that you wont repeat them again on solving same kind of problems. Once you have grasped an understanding of the initial problem, you can use this as a stepping stone to progress to the remainder of the exercise.
  • For some problems, direct solution is not obtained by a simple formula and hence we need to solve the formula. At such time try cause and result method to chunk down the problem and use estimation rule
  • Reject the extremes in about 20-25% of problems are out of your coverage beacuse either you have not prepared for it or forgot the formulas or method to solve the problem. So instead of trying to solve them reject these problems as read them and move on to the problems of your comfort zone.
