10 Tips To Crack AFCAT 1 2024 Exam In First Attempt

The Air Force Common Admission Test or AFCAT is conducted by the Indian Air Force to select candidates for various posts in IAF. Most specifically, candidates are selected for the Class-I Gazetted Officers post in Flying and Ground Duties (Technical and Non-Technical).

This exam is held twice a year, specifically in February and August/September.

Indian Air Force has published the full notification of the AFCAT 1 2024 exam. As per the official notification, AFCAT 1 2024 written exam will be conducted in Feb 2024. Indian Air Force invites Indian citizens (Men and Women) to be part of this elite force as Group A Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches. Online AFCAT examination will be conducted in Feb 2024.

Candidates will get their AFCAT exam date from one of these three dates. Each day there will be two shifts i.e. 1st shift and 2nd shift. Reporting time for Shift-1 is 07:30 hours and for Shift-2 it is 12:30 hours. Below you can check the details of AFCAT 1 2024 shift timings for shifts 1 and 2.

AFCAT is a gateway for all candidates who wish to join the Indian Air Force for  Short Service Commission in Flying Branch. Candidates can join the Permanent Commission/Short Service Commission on Ground Duties for both Technical and Non-Technical roles as well. AFCAT Exam is conducted to grant two commissions. The details of the two commissions are as follows:-

  1. Permanent Commission (PC) for Men: The candidates who join as PC officers will serve till the age of retirement in their respective branches as per their posts.
  2. Short Service Commission (SSC) for Men & Women: 
  • The engagement period for the Flying Branch of SSC Officers is 14 years from the date of Commissioning, which is non-extendable.
  • The tenure for Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) SSC Officers has been fixed for ten years. However, four years of extension is granted based on suitability, requirements and other factors.

Around 6-8 lakh candidates appear for the AFCAT exam, out of which only 10,000 candidates are called for in the AFSB interview process. The AFSB process eliminates some candidates in the interview process. Finally, a small percentage of candidates who appeared in the exam made it to the Air Force academy.     These day’s it just not worth it with inexperienced people who haven’t I think have given exams are advising now ….coz if you had given the exams then there would have been genuine tips not some universal statement
