The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the final results for the Indian Forest Service Examination, 2023. After a rigorous selection process, including a written exam held from November 26 to December 3, 2023, and Personality Test interviews from April 22 to May 1, 2024, a total of 147 candidates have successfully made it to the final merit list.

These candidates have been recommended for appointment to various posts within the Indian Forest Service, as detailed in the results. The distribution of successful candidates across different categories is as follows:

  • General: 43 candidates (including 01 PwBD-3)
  • EWS: 20 candidates (including 01 PwBD-3)
  • OBC: 51 candidates (including 02 PwBD-2)
  • SC: 22 candidates
  • ST: 11 candidates (including 01 PwBD-2)
  • Total: 147 candidates (including 03 PwBD-2 and 02 PwBD-3)

It is important to note that there are three current vacancies for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) that have been carried forward to the next recruitment cycle due to a lack of available candidates.

The appointments are to be made by the government based on the number of available vacancies and are contingent on the candidates meeting all prescribed eligibility conditions and satisfactorily completing necessary verifications. The total vacancies reported include:

  • General: 62
  • EWS: 15
  • OBC: 40
  • SC: 22
  • ST: 11
  • Total: 150 (including 08 PwBD vacancies)

Furthermore, the commission has identified 51 candidates with provisional results based on certain criteria. The roll numbers of these candidates are available for verification.

Candidates seeking further information or clarification regarding their examination or recruitment can visit the UPSC’s Facilitation Counter near the Examination Hall Building on the commission’s campus. Assistance is available in person or by phone on working days between 10:00 A.M. and 05:00 P.M. The results are also accessible online at the official UPSC website (www.upsc.gov.in), and marks will be published on the website within 15 days from the declaration of results.

This significant announcement marks a pivotal step for all the candidates as they prepare to embark on their careers in the Indian Forest Service, contributing to the nation’s environmental governance and conservation efforts.
