  • In Chinese and other East and Southeast Asian cultures, the festival is commonly referred to as the Spring Festival as the spring season in the lunisolar calendar traditionally starts with lichun, the first of the twenty-four solar terms which the festival celebrates around the time of the Lunar New Year.
  • China is celebrating the Spring Festival, its most important annual festival as it entered the Lunar new Year of the Tiger on Tuesday, bidding goodbye to the Lunar Year of the Ox.
