PM Modi Launched ‘Jan Samarth’ Portal

  • Inaugurating the Iconic Week Celebrations of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Corporate Affairs in New Delhi, Mr. Modi said, India has taken new steps every day and tried to do new work in the last eight years.
  • He added, that the government has speed up the development of the nation and empowered the poor. Mr. Modi said Swachh Bharat Abhiyan gave an opportunity to the poor to live a life of dignity.
  • Permanent dwelling, electricity, gas, water, and free treatment have given deserving respect to the poor. He said, the scheme of free rations during the Corona period, freed more than 80 crore countrymen from the fear of hunger.
  • Mr. Modi asserted that by reducing more than 30 thousand compliances, abolishing more than 1500 laws, and decriminalizing several provisions of the Companies Act, the government has ensured that Indian companies not only move ahead but also achieve new heights.
  • GeM portal has brought in new ease for procurement in government and made selling to the government very easy. purchase figure for the portal has crossed one lakh crore rupees.
  • The Prime Minister also launched the national portal for credit-linked government schemes – ‘Jan Samarth’ Portal. The portal is a first of its kind platform which directly connects beneficiaries to lenders.
  • The main purpose of ‘Jan Samarth’ portal is to encourage inclusive growth and development of various sectors by guiding and providing them with the right type of government benefits through simple and easy digital processes.
  • This portal will improve the lives of students, farmers, businessmen, MSME entrepreneurs and will help them in realizing their dreams.
  • On this occasion, a special series of five new coins dedicated to ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ have been launched. These special coins of denominations of one, two, five, ten and twenty rupees coins are visually impaired friendly.

National Tribal Research Institute

  • Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the National Tribal Research Institute in New Delhi. The inaugural event will be part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebration by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. NTRI will be a premier national level institute and become the nerve-centre of tribal concerns, issues and matters in academic, executive and legislative fields. 
  • It will collaborate and network with reputed research institutes, universities, organizations as well as academic bodies and resource centres. It will monitor projects of Tribal Research Institutes, Centres of Excellence and set up norms for improvement in the quality of research and training.
  • Its other activities would be to provide policy inputs to the Ministry of Tribal Affairs as well as State Welfare Departments, design studies and programmes that improve or support socio-economic aspects of tribal lifestyles. Minister of Tribal Affairs, Arjun Munda, Law Minister Kiren Rijiju and other Union Ministers will grace the occasion.

‘eSanjeevani’ Integrated With ABDM

  • The National Health Authority (NHA) has announced the successful integration of the National Telemedicine Service- eSanjeevani with its flagship scheme- Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM).
  • The integration allows the existing users of e-Sanjeevani to easily create their Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) and use it to link and manage their existing health records like prescriptions and lab reports, etc. The users would also be able to share their health records with doctors on eSanjeevani which will help in better clinical decision making and ensure the continuum of care.
  • The integration of eSanjeevani with ABDM is one such example where the 22 crores ABHA holders can link and store their health records created via eSanjeevani directly in the health lockers of their choice.
  • The users can also share their previously linked health records with the doctors on eSanjeevani making the entire consultation process paperless.

4th Edition Of Khelo India Youth Games 2021

  • Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the fourth edition of Khelo India Youth Games-2021’at Panchkula, Haryana on Saturday.
  • In the Khelo India Youth Games-2021 being hosted by Haryana, Maharashtra is leading in medal tally by winning 9 gold, 4 silver, and 4 bronze medals followed by Haryana with 5 golds, six silvers, and 12 bronze medals.
  • Manipur is in third place with 4 gold medals and one silver medal.

French Open 2022

  • In French Open tennis, Spaniard Rafael Nadal has won the 14th singles title of the tournament beating Casper Ruud of Norway 6-3, 6-3, 6-0 in the final.
  • With this victory, 36-year-old Nadal has become the oldest champion at Roland Garros. It is his 22nd Grand Slam title.
  • In women’s singles, World Number One Tennis player Iga Swiatek clinched this year’s title by beating US teenager Coco Gauf in Paris last evening.
  • The 21-year-old polish player won her second Grand Slam title in straight sets 6-1, 6-3 over Gauff who was making her first final appearance at the clay-court Slam.

Bolat Turlykhanov Cup – Wrestling Tournament 2022

  • Aman Sehrawat clinched a gold medal while Bajrang Punia settled for bronze of the 2022 Bolat Turlykhanov Cup wrestling tournament in Almaty, Kazakhstan on Sunday.
  • With the two more medals, India concluded the United World Wrestling’s ranking series with 12 medals – six golds, one silver, and five bronze.
  • Five of the golds were won by women.
  • Sakshi Malik, Divya Kakran, Mansi Ahlawat Also wins gold medals at Bolat Turlykhanov Cup

India Wins Inaugural FIH Hockey 5s championship

  • India beat Poland 6-4 in the final to clinch the inaugural FIH Hockey 5s championship in Lausanne in Switzerland on Sunday. India ended their campaign with an unbeaten record.
  • Earlier, India first outplayed Malaysia 7-3, pumping in four goals in the second half in a stunning show before beating Poland 6-2 in the second match of the day. India had topped the five-team standings after the round-robin league stage with 10 points from three wins and one draw.
  • India had beaten hosts Switzerland 4-3 and drawn with arch-rivals Pakistan 2-2.

Ashi, Swapnil Win Gold In ISSF

  • Swapnil Kusale and Ashi Chouksey won the gold medal in the 50m rifle 3 positions (3P) mixed team competition at the ISSF World Cup Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun in Baku, Azerbaijan.
  • This was India’s second gold in the tournament after the trio of Elavenil Valarivan, Shreya Agarwal and Ramita clinched the yellow metal in the 10m air rifle women’s team event.
  • Besides, the Indian shooters had also bagged three silvers in the tournament and finished second on the medals tally behind Korea.

Tiangong Space Station

  • China launched its third manned mission to its under-construction space station on Sunday, sending another three astronauts to continue the final stages of the construction work at the Tiangong Space Station’s Tianhe core module for six months before returning to Earth in December.
  • China plans to have Tiangong Space Station fully crewed and operational by December 2022. The astronauts lifted off on the Shenzhou-14 spacecraft which was successful.
  • The first crewed mission, a three-month stay by three other astronauts, was completed in September 2021. The second, Shenzhou-13, saw three astronauts spend six months in space for the first time.
  • After Tiangong’s completion, China will be the only country to operate a space station of its own. China has also accomplished landing on Mars last year and on the far side of the moon in 2019.
