CA, CWA & CS (Amendment) Bill 2022

  • The Bill Seeks To Amend The Chartered Accountants Act, 1949, The Cost And Works Accountants Act, 1959, And The Company Secretaries Act, 1980.
  • The Bill Proposes To Strengthen The Disciplinary Mechanism Under These Acts And Provide For Time-bound Disposal Of Cases Against Members Of The ICAI, ICWAI, ICSI.
  • The Legislation Also Adds That Firms Must Register With The Institutes By Making An Application To The Respective Councils Of The Institutes. The Councils Must Maintain A Register Of Firms With Details Such As Pendency Of Any Actionable Complaint Or Imposition Of Penalty Against The Firms.

  • Wheat Has Recorded An Unprecedented Growth Of More Than 273 Percent, Jumping Nearly Four-fold From 568 Million Dollars In 2020-21 To Around 2119 Million Dollars In 2021-22. India Has Captured Nearly 50% Of The World’s Market For Rice.

  • Task Force For Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, And Comics, AVGC To Recommend Ways To Realize And Build Domestic Capacity For Serving Indian Markets And The Global Demand.
  • The AVGC Sector In The Country Has The Potential To Capture 40 Billion Dollars Of The Global Market Share By The Year 2025, With An Annual Growth Of Around 25 To 30% And Creating 1,60,000 New Jobs Annually. 
  • The Task Force Will Frame A National AVGC Policy And Boost Employment Opportunities. It Will Recommend A National Curriculum Framework For Graduation, Post-graduation, And Doctoral Courses In AVGC Related Sectors. The Task Force Will Submit Its First Action Plan Within 90 Days.

  • Make Card-less Cash Withdrawal Facility Available Across All Banks And ATM Networks Using The Unified Payments Interface (UPI). The Absence Of the Need For A Card To Initiate Cash Withdrawal Transactions Would Help In Containing Frauds Like Card Skimming, Card Cloning, Etc.
  • Credit & Debit Cards Will Be Continued. Cardless Withdrawal Requests Can Be Initiated For A Minimum Of ₹100 Per Transaction And Up To A Maximum Of ₹10,000 Per Day Or ₹25,000 Per Month For A Beneficiary While The Limits Are Subject To Change As Per Regulatory Guidelines.

IMF Global Growth Outlook 2022
