Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME), Secunderabad, has added a new landmark to its campus with the inauguration of ‘Arjun Dwar’. The gateway was opened on October 31, 2026 by Lieutenant General Neeraj Varshney, AVSM, VSM, Commandant of MCEME and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME).
A new entrance for the institution
The newly built gate has been described as an important infrastructure upgrade for the Indian Army training institution. According to the information provided, it is intended to improve the main entrance of MCEME while also reflecting the college’s association with the technological and military traditions of the Army.
The name ‘Arjun Dwar’ carries a dual reference. It is linked to the Main Battle Tank (MBT) Arjun, and also to Arjun from the Mahabharata, who is remembered as a warrior and scholar. The naming is meant to evoke strength, focus and determination, qualities associated with the figure and with military professionalism.

Access and campus development
The new gate is expected to make access easier for veterans living in Secunderabad Military Station. The source says the construction is also part of a wider effort to improve movement and accessibility across the MCEME campus.
MCEME remains a key institution in the Indian Army’s training structure, especially in electronics and mechanical engineering. The addition of Arjun Dwar further expands the college’s physical infrastructure and adds to its institutional identity.
The development is presented as part of MCEME’s continuing emphasis on infrastructure growth and on maintaining a secure, accessible and progressive environment for personnel, trainees and visitors. It also links the institution’s long-standing professional legacy with its ongoing modernisation efforts.
