Angkor Wat Becomes The 8th Wonder Of The World

Angkor Wat, located in the heart of Cambodia, has recently earned the prestigious title of the 8th wonder of the world, surpassing Italy’s Pompeii. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is not only the largest religious structure in the world but also a testament to architectural brilliance and cultural significance.
Angkor Wat is an expansive temple complex that spans approximately 500 acres and serves as the largest religious monument in the world.

Originally constructed in the 12th century by King Suryavarman II, the temple was dedicated to the Hindu deity Vishnu.
Over time, it transformed into a major Buddhist temple, reflecting the transition from Hinduism to Buddhism.
The site is renowned for its statue of eight-armed Vishnu, revered as a protecting deity by the locals.
Built in the 12th century, Angkor Wat’s history is marked by its transformation from a Hindu temple to a Buddhist sanctuary.
The intricate carvings on the temple walls depict scenes from Hindu and Buddhist mythology, providing a visual journey through the religious and historical evolution of the region.

Chat Assistant “6Eskai”

IndiGo, India’s largest airline, announced on Monday the launch of its Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered chat assistant named “6Eskai.”
This innovative tool is designed to cater to customer inquiries in a diverse range of languages, marking a significant step forward in enhancing customer service in the aviation industry.

IndiGo’s move comes in the wake of Air India’s introduction of its own AI-powered chat assistant, “Maharaja,” on November 10.
While Maharaja utilizes Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI service, 6Eskai is powered by the advanced technology of Microsoft’s GPT-4, demonstrating the rapid evolution and adoption of AI in the aviation sector.

UK Detects First Human Case Of H1N2 Pig Virus

UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) disclosed the first human case of H1N2, or the pig virus, discovered through routine national flu surveillance.
The affected individual experienced mild illness and fully recovered, raising questions about potential pig-to-human transmission.
The UKHSA detected the case through routine flu surveillance, highlighting the unidentified source of infection.

Despite uncertainties, the agency reported the individual’s recovery from a mild illness. This marks the first human instance of H1N2 in the UK, underscoring the virus’s mysterious origin.
The H1N2 virus’s discovery in humans prompts reflections on the 2009 swine flu pandemic.
The current situation raises awareness of risks associated with zoonotic transmission, where viruses move from animals to humans.
The virus in question contains genetic material from various sources, including pigs, birds, and humans.

Gold Medal To Ministry Of Ayush

The Ministry of Ayush has been awarded the Gold Medal by the ‘India Trade Promotion Organization’ for its excellent performance in the ‘Ministries and Departments’ category of the Indian International Trade Fair.
The Ministry had created an Ayush pavilion with various activities in the fair with the aim of promoting scientific evidence based Ayush treatment methods.

Various curated activities and innovative presentations of the Ministry of Ayush were done by keeping scientific evidence based approach and became the centre of attraction for everyone.
To promote Ayush-entrepreneurship, a total of 18 Ayush start-ups were given the opportunity by the Ministry of Ayush to exhibit with new products in the pavilion.
Free Clinics of Ayush medical systems like Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani, Homeopathy, Yoga-Naturopathy, Sowa-Rigpa were also facilitated in the Ayush Pavilion.
Career related advices were also given to the youth in the field of Ayush at the Ayush pavilion.

NASA Administrator Bill Nelson

NASA Administrator Bill Nelson has landed in India for a series of strategic discussions and events aimed at strengthening the partnership between the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and the Indian Space Research Organisation.

The visit marks India’s growing stature as a global leader in space exploration and technology.
The agenda for Nelson’s visit is packed with high-level meetings with government and space officials, focusing on areas such as human exploration, Earth science, and technological innovation.
One of the highlights of his trip will be a visit to Bengaluru’s NISAR spacecraft facilities, where he will witness firsthand the progress of the joint Nasa-Isro Earth-observing mission.

This marks the first time NASA and ISRO have collaborated on hardware development for an Earth-observing mission, symbolizing a new era of cooperation between the two space agencies.
Additionally, Nelson’s visit aligns with the US and India initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology, initiated by President Joe Biden, fulfilling a commitment to deepen ties in cutting-edge research and development.
During his stay, Nelson will also engage with students to discuss STEM education and inspire the next generation of space explorers, known as the Artemis Generation.

This annual observance takes place on Kartik Purnima, the full moon day in the holy month of Kartik.

Violence Against Women Globally

The World Health Organization’s (WHO) Regional Director for South-East Asia, Dr Poonam Khetrapal Singh, has drawn attention to the alarming prevalence of physical and/or sexual violence against women globally.
Almost one in three women worldwide experiences such violence in her lifetime, with intimate partner violence being a significant contributor. The South-East Asia Region ranks second-highest, with an estimated 33% prevalence.

Violence against women is a grievous violation of human rights and has significant health impacts.
The WHO Regional Director’s statements coincide with the start of the annual campaign, “16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women,” which runs from November 25 to December 10.
During the 16 days of activism, WHO, in collaboration with UNFPA’s regional office for Asia and the Pacific, is conducting a webinar on recently released guidance for integrating violence against women and girls (VAWG) into training curricula for health professionals.
The campaign aims to raise awareness, promote prevention, and address the critical issue of gender-based violence.

“Guide On Gender Inclusive Communication”

Union Minister for Women and Child Development and Minority Affairs, Smriti Zubin Irani, is set to unveil the “Guide on Gender-Inclusive Communication” on November 28, 2023, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
The guide’s launch is a collaborative effort involving the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD), the National Gender and Child Centre (NGCC), Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie, with support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) and UN Women.

Aligned with the government’s commitment to strengthen ‘Nari Shakti,’ MWCD continues its initiatives to promote gender equality and empowerment.
The guide signifies a crucial milestone in this journey, reflecting MWCD’s dedication to creating a society where women not only become equal partners in the nation’s development but also contribute to the overarching vision of ‘Women-led Development’ as envisioned by the Prime Minister.
