CRCS – Sahara Refund Portal

• Union Home Minister Amit Shah Launched CRCS – SAHARA Refund Portal In New Delhi.
• The Portal Will Help More Than 10 Crore Depositors Of Sahara Group Claim Their Money Back.
• The Process Of Returning The Money Of Depositors, Which Was Stuck In Four Cooperative Societies Of Sahara Group, Has Started With The Launch Of The Sahara Refund Portal.
• In The Initial Phase, The Refund Portal Will Disburse Up To Rs 5000 Crore To Depositors.
• However, Each Depositor Will Be Able To Get Only Rs 10,000 In The First Phase. The Entire Process Of Refund Will Be Online.
• There Are 4 Crore Depositors Who Are Eligible To Get Up To 10,000 Rupees.
• Once This Initiative Succeeds, Further Decisions To Address Claims Of Depositors, Who Have More Money Stuck In The Sahara Group’s Cooperative Societies, Will Be Taken.

Veer Savarkar International Airport, Port Blair

• PM Modi Inaugurated The Integrated Terminal Building Of Veer Savarkar International Airport, Port Blair Through Video Conferencing.
• A New Terminal Building, Built At A Cost Of Around 710 Crore Rupees, Will Improve The Ease Of Business, And Enhance The Connectivity In The Region.
• With This Integrated Terminal, The Airport Will Be Able To Handle 11,000 Tourists Every Day.
• The Number Of Tourists In These Islands Had Doubled Due To Development Activities Undertaken By The Government There.

Export Preparedness Index 2022

• NITI Aayog Released Export Preparedness Index 2022 Report In New Delhi. According To The Report, Coastal States Have Performed Well With the States Of Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Karnataka, And Gujarat Being The Top Performers. The Report States That The Higher Average Of Coastal States Represents Their Better Preparedness And Higher Contribution To National Exports.
• About The Policy Ecosystem, The Report States That States Are Adopting The Necessary Policy Measures In Their States. It Said, 73 Percent Of Districts In The Country Have An Export Action Plan, And Over 99 Percent Are Covered Under The One District One Product Scheme.
• It States That 100 Districts In The Country Are Responsible For Nearly 87 Percent Of The Country’s Export. Highlighting The Lack Of Adequate Transport Connectivity, The Report Mentions That The Absence Of Air Connectivity Hampers The Movement Of Goods Across Regions Especially In The Landlocked States.
• The Report Recommended That For The States Which Are Lagging In Terms Of Export Commission, The Central Government Should Extend Support To Enable Them To Build The Necessary Ecosystem To Facilitate Their Export. It Is Also Recommended That Indian States Need To Invest In Research And Development For Developing Market-specific Products And Improving Product Quality.

Taliban Has Increased Restrictions On Women & Girls

• The United Nations Said That Taliban Authorities Have Further Increased Restrictions On Women And Girls In Afghanistan In Recent Months, Including In Education And Employment.
•  The Un In A Report On The Human Rights Situation Issued Said, It Has Recorded Instances In Which The Taliban Have Enforced Previously Announced Limitations On Women’s Freedom Of Movement And Employment. The Report Covers Developments In May And June.
• It Said, Taliban’s Ministry Of Public Health Has Announced That Only Males Will Be Allowed To Take Exams To Pursue Specialized Medical Studies.
• That Follows A Ban On Female Medical Students Taking Graduation Exams Announced Earlier And A Prohibition On Women Attending Universities Issued Last December, The Report Said.

Russia Halts Participation In Black Sea Grain Deal

• Russia Has Announced That It Has Halted Participation In A Deal That Allowed Ukrainian Grain To Be Exported Through The Black Sea.
• Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov Told Reporters That The Part Of These Black Sea Agreements Concerning Russia Has Not Been Implemented So Far, So Its Effect Is Terminated.

US Hands Over 105 Trafficked Antiquities To India

• A Repatriation Ceremony For 105 Trafficked Antiquities Handed Over By The US Side Was Held At The Indian Consulate In New York.
• The Antiquities Will Soon Be Transported To India. During Prime Minister’s Visit, India And The US Agreed To Work On A Cultural Property Agreement That Would Help Prevent Illegal Trafficking Of Cultural Artifacts.
• 47 Of These Are From Eastern India, 27 From Southern India, 22 From Central India, 6 From Northern India And 3 From Western India.  Spanning A Period From 2nd-3rd Century CE To 18th-19th Century CE, The Artifacts Are Made Of Terracotta, Stone, Metal And Wood.
