EX-KAVACH 2023

Andaman & Nicobar Command conducted a Large-scale Joint military EX-KAVACH involving assets of the Army, Navy, Air Force & Coast Guard on April 5.
During the military exercise, naval warships, Army amphibious troops, and various types of Indian Air Force aircraft were used.
The drill also included the airborne deployment of marine commandos from the Navy and para commandos from the Indian Army, as well as naval gunfire support, amphibious landing forces, and follow-up operations.
During the exercise, joint intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance operations were also carried out.
This joint-services exercise aimed to fine-tune joint war-fighting capabilities & operational synergy.
Using Jaguar transport and marine strike aircraft, the IAF demonstrated its firepower. The practice also included members of the ICG. In real-world war situations where the armed forces would have to stop or launch an offensive against the enemy troops.
The previous exercise, known as AMPHEX-21, was held in 2021. It was held in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands from January 21 to 25, 2021. Even during the exercise, all three services were present.

COAS General Manoj Pande Meets Australian Defence Forces Chief

COAS General Manoj Pande received a Guard of Honour at the Australian Defence Forces headquarters. He met Australia’s Chief of the Defence Force Angus Campbell and Chief of the Australian Army Lt General Simon Stuart to discuss defence cooperation.
General Manoj Pande is on a four-day visit to Australia. Australia-India defence cooperation has been on an upward trajectory with a series of diverse engagements at different levels, in various domains.

Arunachal Pradesh Is An Inalienable Part Of India: MEA

Ministry of External Affairs official spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said Arunachal Pradesh is an inalienable part of India, and China giving its own inventive names will not change the ground reality.
The MEA spokesperson was responding to a question on China’s attempt to rename places in Arunachal Pradesh.
Arunachal Pradesh is a state in Northeastern India. It was formed from the erstwhile North-East Frontier Agency region and became a state on 20 February 1987. Itanagar is the state capital. Arunachal Pradesh is the largest of the Seven Sister States of Northeast India by area.

MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi condemned the vandalization of a Hindu temple in Canada’s Windsor and said that the MEA is in touch with the Indian consulate.

MEA On Militarisation Of Myanmar’s Coco Islands

Arindam Bagchi reacted to the militarisation of Myanmar’s Coco Islands and said that India keeps a constant watch on all developments concerning India’s security. And India takes all necessary measures to safeguard the same.
MEA spokesperson was asked about the Myanmar Islands in the Bay of Bengal, which have long been the subject of geopolitical intrigue. It is alleged that allegation that since the early 1990s, Myanmar has allowed a Chinese signals intelligence facility on the Coco Islands.
With the Coco Island developments, India may soon face a new airbase close by in a country increasingly tied to Beijing.
The past two years of civil war in Myanmar have left it isolated internationally with the military junta, known as the Tatmadaw. Beijing has staked a large investment in the country via the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor to access Indian Ocean sea lanes as a way to bypass the Strait of Malacca.

A coordinated multi-agency exercise named Prasthan to evaluate contingency measures for the Offshore Development Area off Mumbai was held on 06 Apr 23.

President Murmu To Fly Sortie In Sukhoi-30 In Assam

On Saturday, President Droupadi Murmu will fly a sortie in a Sukhoi 30 MKI fighter plane from Tezpur Air Force Station. Former President Pratibha Patil previously flew in the frontline fighter plane in 2009.
She kicked off the Gaj Utsav-2023 in Kaziranga National Park on April 7, followed by the Mount Kanchenjunga Expedition-2023 in Guwahati.
On the same day, she attended a function to commemorate the Gauhati High Court’s 75^th anniversary in Guwahati.
