Army Chief Presents President’s Standards To Armoured Regiment                                            

  • General Manoj Pande, presented the prestigious ‘President’s Standards’ or ‘Nishan’ to four Armoured Regiments of the Indian Army, namely 49, 51, 53 and 54 Armoured Regiment during an impressive Standards Presentation Parade held at Suratgarh Military Station in Rajasthan on 25 March 2023.
  • The Chief of the Army Staff reviewed the Standard presentation parade and appreciated the rich legacy of valour, sacrifice and traditions displayed by the Armoured Corps in war and in peace.
  • The Armoured Corps is one of the premier combat arms of the Indian Army. Since Independence, the valour, courage and fortitude shown by the Armoured Regiments during the wars have been exceptional.
  • The Chief of the Army Staff reviewed the Standard presentation parade and appreciated the rich legacy of valour, sacrifice and traditions displayed by the Armoured Corps in war and in peace.
  •  The Army Chief in his address commended the Regiments who received the prestigious President’s Standards, for their exemplary service and conveyed his best wishes to the ranks and families.
  • He also brought out that the modern and professional Indian Mechanised Forces are always ready to meet future challenges and stand committed to guarding the nation against all threats.

POP First Batch Of Agniveers           

  • The Passing Out Parade (POP) of the First batch of Agniveers is scheduled at INS Chilka on 28 Mar 23. The POP marks the successful completion of training of close to 2600 Agniveers including 273 women Agniveers undergoing training at Chilka.
  • Adm R Hari Kumar, CONS will be the Chief Guest and the Reviewing Officer of the POP. VAdm MA Hampiholi, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, SNC would also be present on the occasion along with other Senior Naval Officers and dignitaries.
  • INS Chilka is the premier training establishment of the Indian Navy for sailors’ ab-initio training upon induction. Commissioned in 1980, the institute undertakes various facets of Service training like Physical Training, Swimming, Small Arms, Cyber Security, Naval Orientation etc.

The Ships Of the First Training Squadron             

  • The First Training Squadron (1TS) ships of the Indian Navy, INS Tir and ICGS Sarathi visited Port Antsiranana, Madagascar from 20 to 23 Mar 23 as part of a long-range training deployment. Officers received the ships from the Malagasy Navy and reps from Indian Embassy in Madagascar.
  • During the stay at Antsiranana, the ships undertook various training activities with Madagascar Navy which included NBCD, Fire Fighting, Weapon Handling and Visit Board Search and Seizure (VBSS).
  • A yoga session for personnel from the Indian and Malagasy Navy and friendly Volleyball and Basketball matches were also conducted. The visit of the ships of 1TS to Antsiranana has further enhanced the bilateral ties and cooperation between the two countries.

Delegates Discuss Energy Security, Climate Change At 2nd G20 Framework WGM     

  • The 2nd G20 (FWG) meeting under India’s G20 Presidency concluded in Chennai on March 25. During the meeting, delegates discussed and agreed on the way forward for important deliverables, including those on macroeconomic consequences of food and energy insecurity and climate changes as well as transition pathways, G20.
  • An outreach program with IIT Chennai and Madras School of Economics was also held in the run-up to the meeting. The Chief Economic Adviser interacted with students and researchers on India and the world economy, mainly focusing on India’s 2023 G20 Presidency.
  • The 2023 G20 New Delhi summit is the upcoming eighteenth meeting of the Group of Twenty, a summit scheduled to take place in the International Exhibition-Convention Centre, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi in 2023. It is the first-ever G20 summit to be hosted in India and also in South Asia.

PM Modi To Address Top Military Brass, Witness Military Innovations In Bhopal   

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to spend around six hours with top military brass of the country in Bhopal where he will address and discuss with them the present and future security challenges faced by the country.

ALH Dhruv Chopper Crashes In Kochi

  • An ALH Dhruv Mark 3 helicopter of the ICG crashed in Kerala’s Kochi on Sunday while the pilots of the force were testing the chopper. The ICG informed that the three persons onboard, including the pilot, were safe and the aircraft sustained damage.
