IN – FN Maritime Partnership Exercise

Indian Naval ships INS Rana, a guided missile destroyer, and INS Sumedha, an indigenously built offshore patrol vessel undertook an MPX with French Navy ship FS Surcouf, in the Bay of Bengal on 30 June 2023.
The French Navy’s La Fayette class frigate Surcouf visited Visakhapatnam from 26 – 29 June 2023 and participated in a variety of activities with Indian Navy ships which included professional and social interactions, sports fixtures and cross-deck visits.
Earlier, this year, FS La Fayette, a frigate and FS Dixmude, a Mistral-class amphibious assault class ship had participated in an MPX with INS Sahyadri, a guided missile frigate from 10 – 11 March 2023.

Indian Coast Guard & Indian Navy Sign MoU

MoU was signed between ICG & Indian Navy with Indian Port Rail & Ropeway Corporation Ltd on July 2, 2023, in Gandhinagar for the planning, development, construction, and commissioning of a gallery on the theme “Evolution of Indian Navy & ICG” at the National Maritime Heritage Complex which is being constructed at the historic Indus Valley civilization region of Lothal (Gujarat).
It will have several innovative and unique features such as Lothal mini recreation to recreate Harappan architecture and lifestyle; four theme parks – Memorial theme park, Maritime and Navy theme park, Climate theme park, and Adventure and Amusement theme park.

Mission Gaganyaan – First Batch Of Crew Module Recovery Divers Complete Training

The 1^st batch of the crew recovery team of Mission Gaganyaan completed Phase-1 of training at the Indian Navy’s Water Survival Training Facility at Kochi. Utilizing the state-of-the-art facility, the team comprising Indian Naval Divers and Marine Commandos underwent recovery training of crew modules in varied sea conditions.
The two weeks training capsule covered a brief on the conduct of the mission, actions to be taken during medical exigencies and familiarization with different aircraft and their rescue equipment. The training also validated the SOPs formulated jointly by the Indian Navy and ISRO.

Israel To Buy 25 More F-35 Stealth Jets In $3 Billion Deal

Israel has approved the purchase of a third squadron of F-35 stealth fighter jets in a deal worth $3 billion, the Ministry of Defense.
The additional 25 aircraft manufactured by Lockheed Martin will bring the number of F-35s in Israel’s air force to 75, the ministry said, adding that the deal will be financed through the defence aid package Israel receives from the United States.
The F-35 is also known as the Joint Strike Fighter and in Israel by its Hebrew name “Adir” (Mighty).
Lockheed Martin and engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney have agreed to involve Israeli defence companies in the production of aircraft components, the Israeli ministry added.

MHA to Organise G20 Conference on Crime & Security

MHA will organize the “G20 Conference on Crime and Security in the Age of NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens), ArtificiaI Intelligence and Metaverse” on July 13-14 in Haryana’s Gurugram.
The two-day conference will bring together G20 countries, nine special invitee countries and domain experts around the world to delve into the challenges of advancing technologies.

PM Modi Lauds Neeraj Chopra On Lausanne Diamond League Win

Neeraj Chopra finished at the top spot in the Lausanne Diamond League with an 87.66m throw. Neeraj Chopra continued his sensational form at the Diamond League, clinching the top spot for the second time in the season in Lausanne on.
Despite suffering from injuries after a strained muscle recently, Chopra’s comeback was sensational, as his fifth-round throw of 87.66m was enough to earn him the victory.
Chopra had won the Lausanne event en route to the overall Diamond League trophy in 2022 as well and has continued to prove himself as arguably the best javelin athlete in the world since his gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics two years ago.
