PRAGATI, which stands for Partnership of Regional Armies for Growth and Transformation in the Indian Ocean Region, brought together over 400 troops from 13 countries. Participating nations included India, Bhutan, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam.

Mi-17 V5 helicopters conducted extensive Bambi Bucket operations, drawing water from Chandigarh’s Sukhna Lake and dropping it over affected areas. The operation successfully released more than 93,000 litres of water, helping contain the fire and prevent damage to nearby residential zones, infrastructure, and military establishments.
The mission demonstrated the Air Force’s capability to provide rapid humanitarian assistance during natural emergencies.

The meeting reflects the growing strategic partnership between the two countries and their shared commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
