ITBP Raising Day 2025

  • ITBP Raising Day is observed every year on 24th October to commemorate the formation of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) — a specialized force that guards the Indo-China border across some of the most challenging terrains on earth.
  • The ITBP Raising Day 2025 marks 63 years of dedicated service, celebrating the courage, discipline, and resilience of personnel who protect India’s borders at altitudes often exceeding 14,000 feet.
  • ITBP stands for Indo-Tibetan Border Police, one of India’s five Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). It plays a crucial role in border security, disaster relief, and counter-insurgency operations in the Himalayan region.
  • The ITBP guards the 3,488-km-long Indo-China border extending from Ladakh (Kashmir) to Arunachal Pradesh, facing extreme weather conditions and temperatures that can drop below -25°C.
  • Initially, the ITBP started with just four battalions, but over time, it has grown into a force of nearly 85,000 personnel, organized into 60+ battalions. In 1992, ITBP was restructured under the ITBP Force Act, defining its modern role as India’s first line of defence along the Himalayan frontier.

Exercise Sudarshan Vayu Sanchar

  • Reflecting the national vision of JAI – Jointness, Atmanirbharta, and Innovation, the Southern Command has showcased the strength of unified air defence through a joint exercise Sudarshan Vayu Sanchar as part of Exercise Trishul in the Desert Sector, demonstrating how seamless coordination across services is redefining India’s air defence architecture.
  • The exercise brought together Army Air Defence units, Indian Air Force elements, and naval surveillance inputs into a single, integrated control and reporting network, ensuring real-time threat detection, identification, and engagement.
  • This unified structure validated joint airspace management, enhanced command-and-control integration. It demonstrated how a layered defence grid can operate at speed, precision, and resilience in high-tempo combat environments.

India, Russia foil CIA plot to assassinate PM Modi?

  • Recent news reports and social media speculation claim that India and Russia have worked together to foil a CIA plot to assassinate Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The rumors gained traction after the mysterious death of Terrence Jackson, an American in Dhaka, Bangladesh, fueled further speculation about possible international intrigue. However, as of October 25, 2025, these claims appear to be largely based on speculation and social media chatter, rather than confirmed reports by authoritative sources.
  • There are also ongoing discussions and conspiracy theories in Indian media and online forums alleging that Western intelligence agencies, particularly the CIA, may have been involved in plots to destabilize the Indian government or target high-profile leaders, including PM Modi. One video cites claims by BJP-affiliated sources about a larger conspiracy involving American interests, but such claims have not been substantiated by concrete evidence presented by official government channels or investigative agencies.
  • So far, no official announcements have been made by the Indian or Russian governments confirming the foiling of a specific CIA plot against Prime Minister Modi. Reports on this matter are largely speculative and should be treated with caution until corroborated by reliable, official sources.
  • Key Points from Current Reports
  • Multiple online posts reference cooperation between Indian and Russian intelligence services in preventing an assassination attempt on PM Modi, supposedly orchestrated by the CIA.
  • The mysterious death of an American, Terrence Jackson, in Dhaka, Bangladesh, has been linked to these rumors, although details are scarce and the connection remains speculative.
  • There is increased rhetoric across social media and partisan forums, but no confirmation from government sources or major international news agencies.
  • The context includes previous public allegations around foreign involvement in plots against Indian leaders, but those primarily referenced other targets and older incidents, not this specific case
