As part of a bigger uniform rationalization and standardization initiative, the Indian Navy has for the first time adopted a camouflage uniform along the lines of the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force (IAF).
The military’s normal combat attire is a set of fatigues known as camouflages or battle dress uniforms (BDU). The combat clothing is typically disguised, either in a disruptive pattern, like in the most recent update, or in a monochrome pattern, like shades of green or brown to mimic the background.
All about the Indian Navy Uniform
According to the reports, Navy members will currently only wear the new camouflage uniform on Fridays while they are on land. The staff would wear the fire retardant overalls that are currently available for usage at sea.
The Indian Navy selected its digital camouflage pattern after doing research that included looking at the uniforms worn by navies throughout the world, according to the sources.

Small rectangular pixels of color make up the design. This resembles the uneven texture and rough limits observed in natural surroundings, making it significantly more effective camouflage than the conventional uniform pattern, according to a Navy source.
Of the three services, the Navy has the most uniforms (16 total), each for a distinct occasion. The IAF has 15, but the Army only has nine. Each outfit has a unique number.
More consistent modifications
The Integrated Headquarters of the Ministry of Defence (Navy) made a few further adjustments to Navy uniforms last month.
Naval troops will no longer wear uniform numbers 4A and 4B, according to sources in the navy.
Peaked cap/white turban, white bush jacket, shoulder rank stripes, ribbons, name tallies, chest badges, white trousers, and other uniform accessories make up dress number 4A. On formal events, such as when meeting ambassadors or leaders of state, it is worn. 4B is identical to 4A, except that medals are used in place of ribbons.
According to sources, it has also been determined that on special occasions, naval personnel will dress in dress number 8A with medals.
Dress 8A consists of a peaked cap or white turban, a white half-sleeve shirt, shoulder stripes for officers, rank-specific arm badges for POs and lower, ribbons, name tallies, chest badges, and white pants. It is the standard white uniform worn by naval personnel on a daily basis.
According to sources, dress numbers 5 and 6 won’t be worn for the time being.
Peaked cap/white turban, full-sleeve white shirt, black bow tie, white mess jacket, shoulder stripes, black summer trousers, and black cummerbund make-up dress number 6. It is the summertime formal mess uniform.
The fifth outfit consists of a peaked cap or white turban, a white full-sleeve shirt, a black bow tie, a black mess jacket with stripes down the sleeves, a black cummerbund, and black winter pants. The winter evening mess outfit is worn here.
