INET (Indian Naval Entrance Test) for officer rank was conducted on 8th February, 2020 by the Indian Navy for Permanent Commission & Short Service Commission. Both male & female candidates from across different parts of India took the exam through the online mode. INET 2020 Exam had four sections of English, G.K., General Science & Mathematical Aptitude and Reasoning & Numerical Ability consisting of a total of 400 marks for 25 questions from each section. Each question carried 4 marks & a penalty of 1 mark for wrong answer. As per the Indian Navy’s official publication and INET 2019 cut-off marks, the expected cut-off for this year’s INET exam for Officer rank will vary from a total of 100 to 200 marks. While cut-offs for English & Reasoning and Numerical Ability are expected to vary from 20 to 40, for General Knowledge & General Science and Mathematical Aptitude it will be between 10 to 40 marks each.
If INET 2020 Question Paper is to be analysed, questions from the English section were easier as compared those of the G.K. section which needed an advanced level of knowledge to answer. Reasoning & Numerical Ability section was of moderate difficulty level, while the questions which came from General Science & Mathematical Aptitude ranged from moderate to advanced level of difficulty. Therefore, to qualify the INET 2020 exam the candidate needs to answer in total at least 16 to 40 questions correctly. In order to qualify in the individual sections of the exam, about 3 to 10 questions have to be answered correctly for G.K. & General Science and Mathematical Aptitude each, and about 5 to 10 questions each for English & Reasoning and Numerical Ability.
