Lt Gen Devendra Sharma, PVSM, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Army Training Command (ARTRAC), carried out a significant visit to the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE) in Mhow on February 27, 2026. His visit emphasized the ongoing evolution of military training, particularly focusing on technological advancements.
One of the key highlights of his visit was the inauguration of the NFS Advance Training Centre, a pioneering facility that serves as a hub for tri-services training in Network for Spectrum (NFS) operations. This center aims to enhance the competency of military personnel in handling modern communication systems, and during the visit, Lt Gen Sharma observed student officers showcasing the crucial integration of legacy communication systems with NFS. These demonstrations underscored the enhanced connectivity and operational synergy that such integrations bring to military operations.
Furthermore, the Army Commander explored several high-tech facilities at MCTE, including the Drone Training Node, Electronic Warfare (EW) labs, and Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS) capabilities. He received comprehensive briefings on the specialized training programs designed for young officers, aimed at preparing them for the complexities of technology-driven battlefields.
Expressing his appreciation for MCTEโs innovative initiatives, Lt Gen Sharma commended the institution for its proactive approach in nurturing the next generation of tech-savvy military leaders. He highlighted the college’s vital role in advancing the Indian Army’s transformation towards network-centric and technology-enabled operations, positioning it as a cornerstone in shaping future-ready tech-warriors.
