Kalyani Rafael Advanced Systems Rolls Out MRSAM Kit For Indian Armed Forces

Kalyani Rafael Advanced Systems Pvt Ltd (KRAS) on Tuesday rolled out the 100th Medium Range Surface to Air Missile Kit for delivery to the Indian Armed Forces.
According to a release from the company, the kit is part of the MRSAM Air Defence Missile jointly developed by Rafael Advanced Defence Systems Ltd and DRDO and manufactured in collaboration with Indian industry comprising both private and public sector players including MSMEs.
Speaking on the occasion, Baba N Kalyani Chairman, and Managing Director, Bharat Forge Ltd said “This delivery is not only a shining example of synergy between India & Israel and the private and public sector but also reinforces our commitment to Atma Nirbhar Bharat as envisioned by our PM Modi”.

UP Delegation Visits Sikorsky’s Main Plant and Invites Them To Global Investors Summit

An Uttar Pradesh government delegation, led by state Finance Minister Suresh Khanna, visited American aircraft manufacturer Sikorsky’s main plant at Connecticut in the United States. During the visit, the delegation invited Sikorsky to participate in the Global Investors Summit in Uttar Pradesh.
The delegation invited Sikorsky to hold a conference for manufacturers in India, who can source components to the firm. The delegation led by Suresh Khanna included Uttar Pradesh MLAs & the advisor to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Secretary to CM Yogi Adityanath, Amit Singh.
The focus area of the delegation will be IT and electronics, agro and food processing, defense and aerospace, pharmaceutical and medical devices, energy, venture capitalist, retail, automobile components, electric vehicle, and textile sectors.
During the meeting, Arvind Kumar gave a presentation on the Uttar Pradesh defence corridor. The delegation offered Sikorsky to source equipment from the Uttar Pradesh defence corridor and from Uttar Pradesh. Awasthi informed that Sikorsky also has a joint venture with Tata in Hyderabad, from where they source cabins.

No Death, No Major Injuries To Our Soldiers: Rajnath Singh In Lok Sabha On India-China LAC Clash

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday said that timely intervention by Indian Army stopped the Chinese PLA troops from encroaching on the country’s territory during the December 9 face-off at Arunachal Pradesh’s Tawang sector.
“On December 9, 2022 PLA troops tried to transgress the LAC in the Yangtse area of Tawang sector and unilaterally change the status quo. The Chinese attempt was contested by our troops in a firm and resolute manner. The ensuing face-off led to a physical scuffle in which the Indian Army bravely prevented the PLA from transgressing into our territory and compelled them to return to their posts,” Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
The minister said that the issue had been taken up with China through diplomatic channels.
“After this incident, on December 11, the local commander of the area held a flag meeting with his Chinese counterpart under the established system and discussed this incident. The Chinese side was refused all such actions and told to maintain peace at the border,” Singh told the Lok Sabha.
The Defence Minister said that no Indian troops were killed or seriously injured in the incident.
Singh said, “In this face-off, a few soldiers on both sides suffered injuries. I’d like to tell this House that none of our soldiers died or suffered any serious injury. Due to the timely intervention of Indian military commanders, PLA soldiers have retreated to their own locations.”
“This matter has also been taken up with China through diplomatic channels. I want to assure the House that our forces are committed to guard our borders and ready to thwart any attempt that will be made to challenge it,” Rajnath Singh said.
“I am confident this House will respect the capability, valour and commitment of our armed forces, Singh said.
On Monday the Indian Army in a statement said: “On December 9, PLA troops contacted the LAC in Tawang Sector which was contested by own (Indian) troops in a firm and resolute manner. This face-off led to minor injuries to a few personnel from both sides.”
“Both sides immediately disengaged from the area. As a follow up of the incident, own (Indian) commander in the area held a flag meeting with his counterpart to discuss the issue in accordance with structured mechanisms to restore peace and tranquillity,” it said.
Opposition members earlier today created a ruckus in Parliament over the clash between troops of India and China. Soon after Rajnath Singh’s statement, Opposition leaders staged a walkout from Lok Sabha.

1,179 Bru Militants Surrender, Deposit 350 Firearms In Assam

A total of 1,179 Bru militants belonging to two outfits surrendered in Assam’s Hailakandi district and laid down 350 firearms on Monday, police said. Additional Director General of Police (Special Branch) Hiren Chandra Nath said that insurgents who surrendered belonged to the United Democratic Liberation Front of Barak Valley (UDLF-BV) and Bru Revolutionary Army of Union (BRAU).
The two outfits that were active mostly in areas along the Assam-Mizoram border laid down AK series rifles, M16 rifles and other firearms besides over 400 cartridges.
Altogether 634 members of BRAU, led by Rajesh Charki, and 545 UDLF-BV militants, headed by Dhanyaram Reang, surrendered during the day, Nath said.
The BRAU also submitted a charter of demands addressed to the chief minister, seeking land for the community under the Forest Rights Act, 2006, and Scheduled Tribe (Plain) status in the state.
Their other demands include government jobs for the youth of the Bru community and developmental works such as electrification and construction of roads, schools and hospitals in the area predominantly inhabited by the community.
For the surrendered BRAU cadres, they have demanded ex-gratia for the ex-militants as well as families of those killed over the years, lifting of criminal cases against the cadres and entitling them benefits under Prime Minister Awas Yojana.

Islamic Nations’ Group Has “Already Lost Credibility”: India On PoK Visit

India on Tuesday strongly condemned the visit of the secretary general of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) and for his comments on Jammu and Kashmir, asserting that the grouping has no locus standi in matters related to the region.
In a sharp reaction to OIC Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha’s trip to PoK, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said “Any attempt of interference and meddling in India’s internal affairs by OIC and its secretary general is completely unacceptable.” He said the OIC has already lost its “credibility” by taking a “blatantly communal, partisan and factually incorrect approach” to the issues.

One Set Of Main Equipment For N-plant Ready For Shipment To India: Rosatom

Russia’s integrated nuclear power sector player, Rosatom on Tuesday said that one set of main equipment for the upcoming Unit 5 of 1,000 MW nuclear power plant is ready for shipment to Kudankulam. The equipment was made by ZiO-Podolsk JSC part of Rosatom.
The separator-reheater is designed to remove moisture and superheat steam that has worked out in the high-pressure cylinder and enters the low-pressure cylinder of the turbine.
The MSR-1000-1 is a cylindrical apparatus consisting of a separate or and a single-stage reheater, which, when mounted at the nuclear power plant are located vertically one after the other.
The weight of the separator is 47 tonnes, the length is almost 7 metre, and the diameter is 4 metre.
India’s atomic power plant operator Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL) has two 1,000 MW plants (Units 1 and 2) at Kudankulam, while four more (Units 3, 4, 5 and 6) are under construction.
All the six units are built with Russian technology and equipment supplied by Rosatom.
