‘Hacktivist Indonesia’ Claims To Attack 12,000 Indian Govt Websites: Cybersecurity alert
- A group named “Hacktivist Indonesia” has claimed to have issued a list of 12,000 Indian government websites, including Central and States, which it may attack in the coming days, an alert circulated by the MHA’s Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C) points.
- However, Indian government websites are “updated” and “capable” to handle such threats and narratives being spread by ill elements possibly operating within or outside the country, the alert has been circulated to all agencies, Central and State government wings.
- Issued on Thursday, the alert was circulated by the I4C based on the inputs received by its Cyber Threat Intelligence wing following its open-source intelligence. The narrative was detected by the Cyber Threat Intelligence wing of I4C about the ‘Hacktivist Indonesia’ group which has been involved in an illegal operation to hack Indian websites as well as those in some foreign countries too.

39th Siachen Day
- 39th Siachen Day is celebrated with traditional solemnity. Cdr Siachen Bde laid a wreath on behalf of GOC Fire and Fury Corps & paid rich tribute to War Heroes at the Siachen War Memorial to commemorate their courage & fortitude in securing the highest & coldest battlefield of the World.
- Operation Meghdoot was launched by the Indian Army on 13 April 1984, with the aim of securing the Siachen Glacier region. Unoccupied and undefined, Siachen Glacier was located in the northernmost part of the J&K region.
- In April 1987, the Indian Army’s 8th Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry regiment engaged in a fierce battle with Pakistani troops at the Sia La pass. Despite being outnumbered and facing heavy artillery fire, the Indian soldiers managed to hold their ground and eventually capture the pass.
Six Out Of Seven New ITBP Battalions To Be In Arunachal Pradesh
- In a major push to counter Chinese manoeuvres in Arunachal Pradesh, the Union government has earmarked six out of seven sanctioned Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) battalions and stationed one sector headquarters in the north-eastern border state, said officials.
- The seven battalions were sanctioned by the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) in February when the government approved a proposal to hire 9,400 personnel for the ITBP.
- The ITBP is a border patrol organization of India deployed along its borders with Tibet Autonomous Region. It is one of the seven Central Armed Police Forces, established in 1962 in the aftermath of the Sino-Indian War of 1962.

International Conference on Defence Finance & Economics Concludes
- The three-day ICDFE-2023 concluded in New Delhi on April 14, 2023. Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari was the Chief Guest at the valedictory session of the conference.
- Organised by the Ministry of Defence (Finance), it witnessed the participation of over 350 eminent policymakers, academics and government officials from within the country and abroad. Delegates from the USA, UK, Japan, Australia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Kenya attended the conference, across eight business sessions.
- During the session ‘Defence Strategies & Economics’, the Chief of Defence Staff emphasised the necessity of aligning economic growth with defence spending. He advocated for civil-military integration and financial discipline in the Armed Forces and urged for financial prudence in utilising the defence budget.
- The Chief of the Naval Staff addressed a session on ‘Defence Diplomacy’. He emphasised its importance during ‘Amrit Kaal’, particularly in light of India hosting the G-20 Summit and the ensuing message of ‘Vasudhaive Kutumbakam’. He stressed the importance of defence diplomacy for India since it is well on course to become the fourth-largest global economy soon.
Turkey’s First Aircraft Carrier to Host World’s First Mainly Unmanned Air Wing
- The Turkish Navy has received the TCG Anadolu, its first aircraft carrier, which is expected to house the world’s first air wing made primarily of unmanned aircraft.
- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said the vessel would host many manned and unmanned aerial vehicles, with the TB3 from the Bayraktar family being the latest prototype tested on the carrier’s flight deck.
- The TCG Anadolu is based on Spain’s flagship, the Juan Carlos I, with a displacement of 27,436 tons and a top speed of about 21 knots.
