Kazakhstan: BSF Participates In Meeting Of Heads Of Border Authorities Of SCO

BSF of India, on Wednesday, participated in the 9th meeting of the heads of border authorities of the competent bodies of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) in Kazakhstan.
Notably, Kazakhstan is set to take over the chairmanship of the SCO from July 2023 until July 2024, following the upcoming SCO summit under Indian Presidency on July 4.
The Member States agreed to declare 2024 as the SCO Year of Environment and noted the importance of cooperation in the field of environmental protection, ecological security and prevention of the negative consequences of climate change, development of specially protected nature reserves and eco-tourism.

JIMEX 23

The seventh edition of the bilateral Japan-India Maritime Exercise 2023 (JIMEX 23) hosted by the Indian Navy, is being conducted at/ off Visakhapatnam from 05 -10 July 2023. This edition marks the 11^th anniversary of JIMEX, since its inception in 2012.
Japan Maritime Self Defence Force (JMSDF) units under the command of RAdm Nishiyama Takahiro, Commander Escort Flotilla One, and Indian Naval ships under the command of RAdm Gurcharan Singh, Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet are participating in the exercise.
INS Delhi, India’s first indigenously built Guided Missile Destroyer, INS Kamorta, an indigenously designed and built Anti-Submarine Warfare Corvette, fleet tanker INS Shakti, a submarine, maritime patrol aircraft P8I and Dornier, ship-borne helicopters and fighter aircraft.

Deputy NSA Vikram Misri meets Iran’s Foreign Minister

Deputy National Security Advisor Vikram Misri met Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in Tehran and discussed transit facilitation through the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC).
“Deputy NSA Shri Vikram Misri called on Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran H.E Amir Abdollahian during his recent visit to Tehran to attend the 3rd Trilateral meeting between India, Iran and Russia for the transit facilitation through INSTC“.
Bazrpash while speaking at the event underlined some of the Islamic Republic’s major principles regarding the promotion of INSTC including multilateralism, partnership, transit neighbourhood, networking, facilitation of trade, and intelligent and technological development of transit, and called for maximum collaboration for the development of exchanges through the INSTC.
It is a 162-kilometer railway that will connect the city of Rasht (Iran) near the Caspian Sea, to Astara (Azerbaijan) on the border with Azerbaijan. The new connection will shave four days off that travelling time frame.
