Aim and Significance of AUSTRA-HIND 22

The exercise’s goal is to foster positive military relations, learn from one another’s best practises, and promote the ability to work together while conducting multi-domain operations in semi-desert terrain under a UN peacekeeping mandate. The two armies will be able to share best practises in tactics, techniques, and procedures for conducting tactical operations at the Company and Platoon levels to neutralise hostile threats during this joint exercise.

Aside from casualty management, casualty evacuation, and logistics planning at the Battalion/Company level, training on new generation equipment and specialist weapons such as snipers, surveillance, and communication equipment to achieve a high level of situational awareness is also planned.

Participants will engage in a variety of tasks during the exercise, including joint planning, joint tactical drills, sharing the fundamentals of special weapons skills, and raiding a hostile target. The joint exercise will help to strengthen ties between India and Australia, in addition to promoting understanding and interoperability between the two armies.
