The Eastern Naval Command is one of the three command-level units of the Indian Navy, having its headquarters in Visakhapatnam, a bustling naval hub on India’s east coast. It is responsible for overseeing all naval forces operating in the huge expanse of the Bay of Bengal and substantial areas of the Indian Ocean as a strategic command.

INS Vikrant at Vishakhapatnam
Vishakhapatnam, the designated home base for INS Vikrant, has a rich nautical legacy and has long been a vital part of Indian Navy operations. With the arrival of the aircraft carrier, Visakhapatnam will become an even more important hub for naval operations, shipbuilding, and maritime trade.
Meanwhile, the Western Naval Command has its own flagship warship, the aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya, which proudly leads naval operations in Western waters. The Western Naval Command’s headquarters are in Mumbai, India’s maritime capital, and it is in charge of naval troops in the Arabian Sea and parts of the Indian Ocean on the western side.
