USA mighty Stealth Aircraft F-22 Raptors were seen Flying near the Russian Border amid the highly Tensed Russia-Ukraine war. According to the reports, 12 F-22 raptors were seen flying in the Estonian Airspace for a military drill. The Drill also includes practicing tacts to respond to threats in cooperation with other countries.
Various countries are gathering in Lithuania for military drill which involves the Air Force of such countries. The USA has invested over 36 million dollars in building the Amari Airbase which is situated in the territory of Estonia. Such infrastructure development has made Amari Airbase capable of holding more than its actual capacity.
Recent Developments Near the Russian Border
Such Developments have taken place because of the various Aerial Clashes over the Balck Sea. Even since the invasion, the ‘clashes’ have only intensified. Earlier this week, a Russian fighter came dangerously close to a Polish aircraft over the Black Sea. According to the Polish government, a Russian Su-35 jet engaged in aggressive and dangerous maneuvers, flying within approximately 15 feet of the Polish plane. These actions led to the loss of various Polish Crew. Various other incidents have also happened where US pilots have also witnessed the invasion of the airspace of a sovereign county by Russian Aircrafts. The recent incident involving the Polish aircraft aligns with a pattern of actions by Russian pilots in the Black Sea and other regions, which US military officials have classified as “dangerous.”
In March, a Russian Su-27 fighter aircraft sprayed fuel and intentionally struck a US MQ-9 Reaper drone flying over the Black Sea, resulting in its crash. In 2022, a Russian fighter jet fired a missile at a manned British spy aircraft flying over the Black Sea. According to a recently leaked classified US intelligence report, the munition malfunctioned, saving a potentially disastrous outcome.
According to two US defence sources, the Russian pilot misread a message from a radar operator on the ground, believing he had gotten the authority to fire. However, due to a malfunction, the missile did not launch as planned. The new occurrence is reminiscent of a sad tale from the Cold War era, such as the incident with Korean Air Lines Flight 007. During that time, Soviet fighter jets were quickly dispatched to intercept an aircraft they suspected of posing a threat.
