How To Join Army Airborne Training School (ATTS)?

Airborne forces are ground forces that are transported by an aircraft and dropped in hostile and conflict areas, usually by a parachute. These soldiers are known as Paratroopers. A soldier who is qualified to use a parachute is known as a paratrooper.

About the ATTS

The Army Airborne Training School in Agra provides training in aerial delivery and air transportation of people and goods. It also conducts studies and tests on the air portability and Para dropping of different kinds of equipment. ATTS is a premier training Institute of the Indian Army. Soldiers and Officers from the Special Forces, Airborne Forces, paramilitary forces, and other forces are trained at Army Airborne Training School in Parachute Jump. 

How to join the Army Airborne Training School?

First of all, we should know that there are no special provisions to join the ATTS directly. You can go for training in the ATTS once you are already in the Indian Army as an Officer or Jawan.  A soldier or an officer who has done the Para basic course in the PTS and willingly wants to do further airborne training can join the ATTS after the permission of their Commanding Officer.
