From February 27 to March 17, an IAF group of 110 air warriors took part in the Al Dhafra air base in the UAE. To recap, the indigenously developed TEJAS fighter aircraft made its debut at a foreign military wargame during Exercise Desert Flag, which took place between February 27 and March 17 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
LCA Tejas in Ex Desert Flag
It’s strange that Desert Flag-VIII didn’t receive the coverage it deserved in the Indian mainstream media. The Indian Air Force contingent of 110 air warriors took part in the lengthy drill at the UAE’s Al Dahfra air base. The Indian Air Force sent five TEJAS light fighter fighters and two C-17 Globemaster-III cargo planes. “This was the first time the TEJAS took part in an international flying exercise outside of India,” an official stated. Desert Flag is a multilateral air exercise in which air forces from the UAE, France, Kuwait, Australia, the United Kingdom, Bahrain, Morocco, Spain, the Republic of Korea, and the United States will take part.
“The goal of the exercise was to participate in various fighter engagements and learn from the best practices of various air forces around the world,” the official added. Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd’s TEJAS is a single-engine, extremely agile multi-role supersonic fighter capable of operating in high-threat air scenarios. The Indian Air Force and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) are confident in sending the indigenous fighter TEJAS to various air drills around the world. It would ensure a positive reinforcement of the fighter jet’s capabilities and open the door for the aircraft’s export.
