India is performing various G20 events all over its cities. Like any other city to project the importance of Kashmir throughout the world, one of the G20 Conferences is being held in Kashmir city. Kashmir is a hostile area and performing any such kind of conference needs a top security detail. The Marine (MARCOS) and NSG commandos will be deployed to secure the venue of the G20 working group meeting in Kashmir later this month.
MARCOS, NSG Commandos For G20 Meet in Kashmir
According to a police handout, at a security review meeting today, Additional Director General of Police Kashmir Zone Vijay Kumar underlined the importance of river and lake dominance in maintaining the security of the G20 conference. Kumar also underlined the importance of deploying Marine Commandos (MARCOS) to offer a strong security cover for the water bodies surrounding the summit venues, according to the report.
The ADGP Kashmir informed all stakeholders that NSG teams will be used to counter fidayeen attacks alongside SOG, and that specialized NSG teams to counter drones will be deployed at all venues. The meeting’s security personnel examined the present security arrangements in place and considered potential methods to improve security measures to ensure the safety of all participants and attendees during the event. Apart from security measures, the conference also reviewed the administration of foreign NGOs and media employees, according to the police.
The GOC of Kilo Force assured that any assistance, such as high-reach dominance, corridor protection, and more area surveillance teams for area dominance, particularly at night, would be supplied. The discussion focused on the rising threat of VBIEDs and other modalities of potential terror attacks, including probable fidayeen strikes, standoff fire, and grenade attacks, according to the police. Countermeasures to fight these terror threats were also discussed. Kumar underlined the importance of working together to secure the summit’s security. The authorities also addressed the deployment of security personnel, traffic management, and crowd control measures that would be implemented to ensure the summit’s peaceful conduct.
The discussion concentrated on security staff deployment, anti-drone measures, and other essential components of security planning. Kumar urged officials to ensure that security procedures are in place long in advance of the summit and that security personnel is deployed in a way that does not cause trouble to local people and tourists. He also highlighted the importance of remaining watchful and taking preventative measures to avoid any adverse incidents during the summit. He also encouraged them to install additional security measures in sensitive areas to avert any adverse incidents during the G20 conference.
