Indian Navy SSC IT Officer entry (Jan 2023 Course) SSB Interview Dates Out Now

Dear Aspirants, Indian Navy entry for the position of SSC IT Officer (Jan 2023 Course) call-up letters for the SSB interview for both men and women have been released. We are pleased to inform you that the SSB interviews are going to be conducted for induction into the SSC [SSC(IT)] 01/2023 COURSE of the Indian Naval Academy.

SSB Interview

The SSB Interview will be conducted in two stages. Stage I & Stage II. Candidates will be administered the stage I screening of the selection procedure on the following day of their arrival. Candidates failing to qualify in the first stage will be sent back on the same day. Candidates recommended for stage II will be retained for further testing for another four days or even longer for medicals. Boarding & lodging during the stay at the SSB centre will be provided by the respective SSB centre.

Travel

AC 3 tier rail fare by shortest route is admissible in case you are attending for the first time for the Commission on production of hard copy of train ticket.If travel is by air/bus, original boarding pass/ hard copy of Air/ bus ticket is mandatory for claiming fare subject to maximum AC 3 tier fare by shortest route.

You are to comply with COVID-19 related instructions for SSB Interview mentioned in ‘Current Events’ section of Join Indian Navy website (https://www.joinindiannavy.gov.in/en/event/covid-19-instructions-for-ssb.html).

COVID-19 Related Instructions for SSB Interview

In view of the COVID 19 Pandemic, compliance with additional instructions, as under, are to be ensured prior leaving for SSB interview:-

  • (a) Install Aarogya Setu Application in your phone. Prior leaving for Selection Board, screenshot of having green status on the App is mandatory to be taken. The same will be checked at the time of reporting at the Selection Board.
  • (b) In case of residing in any containment zone, travelling is not advised. Send an email to the Call-up officer along with any documentary proof. An alternative SSB interview will be scheduled, if batch is available.
  • (c) Obtain requisite approval or inform the enroute/destination state as per the prevailing rules.
  • (d) Carry all required documents mentioned in the call up letter as you will not be allowed to leave the premises for any documentation or getting photograph/photocopies.
  • (e) Bring two bed sheets as per your comfort.
  • (f) No laundry facility will be provided by the Selection Board till the pandemic is over. Therefore it is advised to carry adequate clothing for stay in the Board. Carrying personal face masks, face shield, gloves and hand sanitizer is also compulsory.
  • (g) Mandatory Negative RT PCR Report (Within 72 Hrs). On account of resurgence of COVID 19 situation across the country, candidates are required to carry RT PCR report that the candidate is COVID negative. The date of the RT PCR report must be within 72 hrs of the date of reporting of the candidate. (Asymptomatic Certificate by medical practitioner/any other COVID report will not be accepted.)
  • (h) Check your email regularly for any additional instruction in regard to SSB interview.

COVID INSTRUCTIONS: In addition to Para 4, you are mandatorily required to carry a Negative RT PCR report (Within 72 Hrs of the date of reporting of the candidate).

Documents to carry

Please bring the following certificates at the time of reporting at the center, otherwise you will be sent back and no reimbursement of fare will be made:-
(a) Degree Certificates / Marksheets . Printed copy of call up letter, original and one Attested copy of marksheets and certificates of 10th, 12th, Graduation, Post Graduation (as applicable for the entry) OR “Custodian Certificate” issued by competent authority at College / Principal alongwith duly certified Xerox copies of certificates in case the certificates are held by college/university. In case of computer generated photocopy of marksheet / degree certificate, the same be attested by college / university authority.
(b) Bonafide Certificate In case the candidate is appearing/appeared in the final year/semester of qualifying examination, bonafide certificate is required that should include the name of college/university. Discipline and year/semester of Graduation/Post Graduation being pursued, aggregate percentage till last year/semester (for which the result is declared) and likely date of declaration of final year result (in MM/YY format).
(c) CGPA Percentage Conversion Formulae / Supporting Documents . Candidates who have entered CGPA converted percentage while applying online need to bring CGPA to Percentage conversion formulae / documents issued by their university/competent authority.
(d) For working candidates. Supporting document viz. appointment / joining letter issued by present / past employer(s).
(e) Twenty passport size photographs.
(f) Any One of these ID proofs i.e. voter ID/Passport/Driving license/Pan card/admit card as proof of your identity. All candidates are also requested to carry their Aadhar card in addition to other ID proof
(g) One copy of online application form
(h) Photocopy of the first page of passbook or cheque leaf reflecting the name A/C No. & IFSC details.
(i) Risk Certificate signed by candidate in the following format:-
I (Name)_ son/daughter of _(Name of Father/Mother/Guardian(if parents not alive) am attending the SSB Interview at my own risk. No compensation will be claimed from Government for injury sustained during the SSB Interview.

(j) Affidavit. In case of variations in personal particulars given in application form and that in matriculation certificate, affidavit / corrective action taken (stating the variations in the personal particulars in specific document) is required.
(k) Copy of online application form.
(l) Photo copy of First page of Passbook or Cheque leaf reflecting the name A/c No & IFSC Details.

Miscellaneous and things to carry

Change of date of interview

This will be considered in exceptional circumstances, subject to availability of batch. Alternate date is to be sought well in time from the SSB you are allocated to.

1. What is Indian Navy Officers IT Entry?

Applications are invited from eligible unmarried men & women candidates for the grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in Information Technology (Executive Branch) of the Indian Navy under Special Naval Orientation Course at Indian Naval Academy (INA) Ezhimala, Kerala.

2. What is the age limit?

Candidates between the age group 19 to 24 can apply

3. How many times can one attempt the exam?

There is no limit on the number of attempts. However, one has to keep the age limit in mind as there are no age relaxations allowed.

4. Who can one apply for the Indian Navy IT Branch?

Candidates who have graduated/post graduated or in the final year (regular/integrated) with minimum 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA OR Candidates who have obtained a degree in Engineering (regular/integrated) with 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA/System from such foreign university/ college/ institution.

5. Can Women apply for the Indian Navy IT Branch?

Yes, Applications are invited from eligible unmarried men & women candidates for the grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in Information Technology (Executive Branch)

6. What is the number of vacancies?

50 Vacancies for both men and women.

7. Is this a direct entry and there is no written exam?

It is a Direct Entry and No Written Exams. Shortlisted candidates will be called for a direct SSB interview and Shortlisting of application will be based on normalised marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying degree. Marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying degree will be normalised using formulae mentioned on the website

    My college is in the another state and the results of our MCA is declared till 3rd sem only and the marksheet is available for two semesters only. Can we show them the marksheet from online official college website or need to present the hard copy of first two semesters? Also , my father being in the Indian Railways, if i will travel by train , will the travel allowance still be applicable or not?
