36th Tri-Services Commanders’ Conference – South Held In Port Blair Ex

  • 36th Tri-Services Commanders’ Conference (TSCC) – South was held at Port Blair on 12th & 13th September 2022 under the aegis of Andaman and Nicobar Command. The two-day conference was hosted by Commander-in-Chief, Andaman Nicobar Command Lt Gen Ajai Singh.
  • The senior leadership deliberated upon aspects various pertaining to the geostrategic situation and infrastructure development in the Indian Ocean Region, coordinating the actions of Regional Command of the three services as well as avenues of augmenting tri-services training and readiness of all components.
  • The conference was aimed at synergising collective strengths and capabilities of India’s littoral service and Integrated-Service commands. It focused on addressing contemporary security paradigms while seeking ways to enhance combat capability and make operations more effective and efficient.

India, Vietnam Agree To Expand Counter-terror & Maritime Security Ties 

  • The Second India – Vietnam Security Dialogue at the level of Deputy National Security Advisor and Deputy Minister here on Tuesday decided to ramp up counter-terror and maritime security partnership amid China’s aggression in the Indo-Pacific region.
  • National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) was led by Vikram Misri, Deputy National Security Adviser and the Ministry of Public Security, Socialist Republic of Vietnam was led by Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Public Security.
  • An MoU for Cooperation signed between the NSCS and the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security in 2016 established an institutional mechanism between the NSCS and the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security.
  • Misri reiterated Prime Minister Modi’s Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative (IPOI), focused on a collaborative effort to better manage, conserve, sustain and secure the maritime domain, and which shares strong convergence with the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific, according to persons familiar with the meeting.

New Appointments In ICG 

  • Additional Director General S Paramesh has taken over the Command of ICG Eastern Seaboard. The Flag Officer was at the helm of the Coast Guard Region (East) and Coast Guard (West) before assuming the Command of the Eastern Seaboard.
  • Inspector General Iqbal Singh Chauhan, TM took over as the Commander Coast Guard Region (North- East), Kolkata, from Inspector General MV Pathak, PTM, TM, at an impressive ceremonial parade on Wednesday 14 Sep 22.

BDL Has Developed A User-Friendly Software For Missile Test Equipment

  • As part of MoD’s initiative to encourage innovations, BDL has developed user-friendly software for missile test equipment to ensure the serviceability of ATGMs. An IPR has been awarded for the same as a part of Mission Raksha Gyan Shakti.
  • Konkurs – M is a Second Generation, mechanized infantry Anti-Tank Guided Missile, to destroy armoured vehicles equipped with Explosive Reactive Armour. The missile can be launched either from the BMP-II tank or from a ground launcher. It has a range between 75 to 4000 meters with a flight time of 19 secs.
  • Bharat Dynamics Limited is one of India’s manufacturers of ammunition and missile systems. It was founded in 1970 in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.

After PSLV, SSLV and GSLV TO WILL BE BUILD BY Private CONSORTIUMS: ISRO Chief

  • It was revealed earlier this month that the PSLV, the nation’s most dependable rocket, will shortly be produced and deployed by the private sector (PSLV). The ISRO Chairman Dr. S. Somnath said, during the launch of India’s first satellite broadband service, that commercial consortiums will soon manufacture India’s big rockets, i.e. the rockets known as GSLV.
  • Dr. Somnath said, “Our long-term goal is to hand over all operational launches to be rebuilt, relaunched, and operated on a commercial basis by NSIL (New Space India Limited) [ISRO’s commercial arm]. In due course, we will be handing over the manufacturing of GSLV-MK III and SSLV to industrial consortiums.
  • Dr. Somnath stated, “We hope that it will happen and NSIL will move towards that market. We believe that the satellites which are coming up in the private ecosystem which is definitely going to happen. That’s the market we are looking at. We are also seeing the growth of the industry significantly in India. Not only small satellites but bigger satellites are also being built here.

Vice President Addresses 62nd Course of National Defence College (NDC)

  • The Vice President, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar said that the concept of “Vasudhaiva kutumbakam” (to treat the world as one family) represents the core value of our civilizational ethos.
  • Delivering a lecture on ‘India’s Core Values Interests and Objectives’ at the National Defence College in New Delhi, the Vice President said that the Preamble to our Constitution enumerates many of our core values. Referring to ‘Vaccine Maitri’ initiative launched during the Covid-19 pandemic, he said that India’s outlook has never been expansionist throughout history.
  • The National Defence College, located in New Delhi, is the defence service training institute and the highest seat of strategic learning for officers of the Defence Service and the Civil Services.
