Exercise Samudra Shakti-23 Concludes

The 4^th edition of the Indo-Indonesia bilateral Exercise Samudra Shakti-23 concluded in the South China Sea.
The sea phase held from 17-19 May 2023 witnessed the participation of ASW corvette INS Kavaratti with an integral Chetak helicopter and a Dornier Maritime Patrol Aircraft. The Indonesian Navy assets included KRI Sultan Iskandar Muda with an integral helicopter Panther and a CN 235 Maritime Patrol Aircraft.
The sea phase was preceded by a fruitful harbour phase which saw professional interactions, tabletop exercises and sports exchanges.
The successful completion of Exercise Samudra Shakti-23 illustrated the strong partnership between India and Indonesia and reaffirmed the commitment of both navies to promote peace and stability in the region through cooperative engagements.

MH60R Helicopter Undertakes Maiden Sea Landing Onboard INW

In a significant milestone for the Indian Navy, the MH60R helicopter undertook maiden landings on the indigenously designed and constructed destroyer, INS Kolkata, said Indian Navy.
This achievement provides a major boost to the Indian Navy’s Anti-Submarine Warfare capability. MH60R helicopter is a versatile platform known for its exceptional ASW, surveillance, anti-shipping and Search and Rescue capabilities.

India Launches ‘Operation Karuna’

India launched “Operation Karuna” to provide humanitarian assistance for people in Myanmar, which is affected by Cyclone Mocha, and three ships carrying relief material reached Yangon.
Meanwhile, Indian Naval Ships Shivalik, Kamorta and Savitri were the first Naval ships to arrive at Yangon with relief material.
Mocha made landfall with winds of up to 195 km (120 miles) per hour, downing power pylons and smashing wooden fishing boats to splinters, reported Dhaka Tribune.
