PM Modi To Be Guest Of Honour On France’s National Day On July 14

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the Guest of Honour on France’s National Day on July 14.
The news was confirmed by French President Emmanuel Macron on Friday. He tweeted both in French and Hindi, expressing his pleasure over PM Modi’s visit.
On the 25^th anniversary of the India-France Strategic Partnership, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to attend this year’s Bastille Day Parade as Guest of Honour on July 14 in Paris this year.
“This historic visit will also deliver common initiatives in order to respond to the key challenges of our time, including climate change, biodiversity loss, and the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals, and will be an opportunity for India and France to reaffirm their commitment to multilateralism, including in the context of India’s G20 presidency,” the statement said.

Bhutto-Zardari Calls For Collective Approach By SCO To Combat Terrorism

Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Friday called for a collective approach by the SCO to combat terrorism and not get caught up in “weaponizing terrorism for diplomatic point scoring”.
His remarks at the India-hosted conclave of the SCO in Goa came shortly after External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said terrorism in all its forms, including cross-border terrorism, must be stopped.
The SCO meeting at Taj Exotica Resort in this seaside village was closely followed because of the participation of Bhutto Zardari, the first Pakistani foreign minister to travel to India in nearly 12 years. As the foreign ministers arrived at the venue on Friday morning, Jaishankar greeted all of them with a namaste, thus obviating the possibility of a handshake in the full media glare.

Rajouri Encounter: 5 Indian Army Personnel Killed, Operations Still In Progress

A total of five soldiers lost their lives in the ongoing anti-terror operation in the Kandi area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri, officials said.
“Three more soldiers who were injured earlier have unfortunately succumbed to their injuries. A total of five soldiers have lost their lives in the joint operation in Rajouri, J&K,” said the officials.
Indian Army is conducting relentless intelligence-based operations to flush out a group of terrorists involved in an ambush on an army truck in the Tota Gali area of Bhata Dhurian in the Jammu region, an official release stated.
