Supreme Court Upholds 10% Reservation For EWS

  • On November 7, The Supreme Court Validated The 10 % Quota In Colleges And Government Jobs For The EWS (Economically Weaker Sections). By Amending The Constitution In 2019, The Central Government Had Made A Provision Of 10 % Reservation For The EWS Of The General Category.
  • A 5- Judge Bench Of The Supreme Court Upheld The Validity Of The 103rd Amendment To The Constitution, 3 Judges (Justices Dinesh Maheshwari, Bela Trivedi, And JB Pardiwala) Upheld The Constitution Amendment Act And Justice S Ravindra Bhat & Chief Justice U U Lalit Disagreed.
  • In 2019, Article 15 And Article 16 Of The Indian Constitution Were Amended Through The 103rd Constitutional Amendment.
  • Article 15 (6) And Article 16 (6) Were Inserted In The Constitution Of India, So That The EWS Of The Unreserved Class Could Be Provided The Benefit Of Reservation.
