On Tuesday, the Army and the Indian Air Force conducted a joint heliborne training exercise in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district. The readiness of troops from Jammu’s White Knight Corps to perform special operations was examined and practised during the exercise, according to the PRO of defence in Jammu.

Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command, visited Corps Battle School at Sarol on Tuesday and was briefed on training activities, infrastructure, and standards being met. The army also published photos from the exercise.

According to the military spokeswoman, the army commander commended the excellent level of professionalism and training being provided to the trainees undertaking pre-induction training. Lt Gen Dwivedi was also briefed on the Army Martial Arts Routine (AMAR), a “unique and standardised” unarmed fighting routine focused on “offensive assault training” and effective against sharp-edged weapons.
