India-Australia Relations Get Stronger – What Is Migration Deal?

India and Australia signed a migration and mobility agreement on Wednesday to expand opportunities for students and businesspeople, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese discussed ways to advance cooperation in critical areas such as critical minerals and renewable energy. The two leaders met one day after attending an Indian diaspora event at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena.

  • Reiterated Their Commitment To Concluding A Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) By The End Of The Year To Build On An Interim Deal That Took Effect Last December. 
  • The Next Two Rounds Of Talks On CECA Are Scheduled For June And July.

  • Australian PM Anthony Albanese Announced Country’s Free Trade Agreement With India Has Been Passed By The Australian Parliament In 2022.

  • 12,000 Indian Goods (More Than 90 %) Will Get Duty-free Access To The Australian Market.
  • In The Next 5 Years, It Will Cover 100% Of Indian Goods.
